Biography

Michelle M. Rose-Hughes is a founding partner of Tuthill & Hughes LLP. Prior to founding Tuthill & Hughes LLP, Ms. Rose-Hughes was a partner of Holme Roberts & Owen LLP, where she practiced for fifteen years. She specializes in planning for individuals, families, estates, trusts and closely-held businesses, and she regularly advises charities on the structuring and acceptance of major charitable gifts.

Ms. Rose-Hughes’ expertise includes complex estate planning, large estate administration, federal estate, gift and generation-skipping tax planning, life insurance planning and financing with split-dollar techniques, trust administration, business succession planning and wealth transfer using family limited liability partnerships and limited liability companies. She advises charitable organizations and individual donors with respect to the structure and implementation of major planned gifts, including gifts of real estate, the formation and implementation of private foundations, charitable lead trusts and charitable remainder trusts.
